Memorial Gifts in Honor of Don Liebert
Join us in honoring Don’s legacy by supporting the work of Feast World Kitchen’s empowerment programs alongside Spokane’s local immigrant and refugee communities.
Continuing Don’s Story.
Don Liebert dedicated his life to walking alongside the poor and marginalized, building deep relationships rooted in dignity and mutual respect.
For three decades he led Whitworth University students to Central America, accompanied his wife during her Fulbright work among the Maasai of Kenya, taught in Pakistan, and co-founded Westminster House in West Central Spokane—where he was affectionately known for years as “the bus driver.”
His faith, shaped by the love and teachings of a refugee, guided him as a sociologist and Presbyterian leader; he counted among his close friends the Q’eqchi’ (Kechi) of Guatemala and the Nez Perce of Washington state, embodying a lifelong commitment to solidarity and service in the streets of Spokane and throughout the world—a commitment echoed in the mission of Feast World Kitchen.
