Table Time
Practical support for former Refugee and Immigrant communities
What is Table Time?
Table Time is our practical assistance program serving Spokane’s Immigrant and former Refugee communities. Our trained Community Health Workers work alongside people to find and navigate resources, reduce barriers to access, and learn to use resources with increasing independence. We aim to reduce isolation, offering our suppport in a context of friendly hospitality — most often, around a table with food! Feast’s restaurant customers might notice a couple of tables in the back where much more than a meal is happening.
We assist with several stabilizing factors as people are building their lives in the U.S.: career readiness, resumé building, English language development, finding affordable housing/healthcare/education options, and connecting with a variety of community resources. In many areas, we use strong referral and follow-up relationships with other local organizations.
This program supports roughly 250 community members per year... and growing! We foster a sense of belonging and empowerment, with trained staff ready to provide trauma-informed case work support (as well as plenty of free snacks around the table). Table Time creates a space for connection, encouragement, and growth, helping individuals and families take steps toward building the flourishing lives they want here in the U.S.
